Common Issues in Production of Hardware Stamping and Stretching Parts: How to Solve Them?

Hardware stamping and stretching parts are ubiquitous in our daily lives. Various problems can arise in the mass production of hardware stamping and stretching parts for various reasons. So, what are the common problems with hardware stamping and stretching parts and how can they be solved? Let's take a look together!

Common problems in the production of hardware stamping and stretching parts

The shape and size of hardware stamping and stretching parts do not match:

The shape and size of hardware stamping and stretching parts not matching is mainly caused by rebound and inaccurate positioning. In addition to taking measures to reduce rebound, the reliability of blank positioning should also be improved.

Surface scratches on hardware stamping and stretching parts

The surface scratches on hardware stamping and stretching parts are caused by improper selection of materials, low hardness of heat treatment, poor finish, worn fillet of concave mold, poor surface quality of bent blanks, excessive material thickness, unreasonable process plan selection, and lack of lubrication, etc.

Bending cracks on hardware stamping and stretching parts:

  • The angle between the bending line and the direction of the plate rolling is not up to the standard. When laying out, if it is a single-direction V-shaped bend, the bending line should be perpendicular to the rolling direction. For double-direction bending, the bending line and the rolling direction should preferably be 45 degrees.

  • Poor plasticity of stretching part materials.

  • The bending radius is too small, and the pickling quality is poor.

  • Inadequate lubrication - large friction force.

  • The fillet radius of the convex and concave molds is worn or the gap is too small - the feeding resistance is increased.

  • Poor quality of blank shearing and punching section of hardware stamping and stretching parts - burrs, cracks, etc.

  • The thickness dimension of the material is seriously exceeded, making it difficult to feed.

Solutions to problems with hardware stamping and stretching parts after they occur:

  • The shape of hardware stamping and stretching parts should be as simple and symmetrical as possible, and should be formed by stretching at one time as much as possible;

  • Parts that need to be stretched multiple times should respond to the traces that may occur during the stretching process under the premise of ensuring necessary appearance quality inside and outside;

  • Under the premise of ensuring the installation requirements, there should be a certain inclination on the side walls of the stretching parts;

  • The distance from the hole edge on the bottom or flange of the hardware stamping and stretching parts to the side wall should be appropriate;

  • The fillet radius of the bottom and wall, the flange and wall, and the four corners of the rectangular parts of the hardware stamping and stretching parts should be appropriate;

  • The dimensional markings of hardware stamping and stretching parts cannot indicate both the internal and external dimensions together.
