What Are the Methods of Connecting Metal Stamping Parts?

With the requirements of modern industry development, future panels will be further developed in the direction of composite and functional.

As the whole society pays more and more attention to environmental protection, plated coated sheets and light-weight sheets (such as aluminum alloy sheets for automobiles) will be more widely used, while the traditional spot welding process has largely hindered this development. Therefore, how metal stamping parts manufacturers solve the connection problem of these new plates is not only the key to the widespread use of these plates, but also crucial to the quality improvement and cost reduction of modern industrial products.

The connection methods of commonly used metal stamping parts are:

1. The seam connection of metal stamping parts

Seam joint is a joint method of turning and buckling the edges of metal stamping parts to each other. Seam joint does not require special equipment, and its compactness is good, and the joint is very reliable. It is often used in sheet metal structures with a thickness of less than 1MM, such as the common iron and copper used by manufacturers.

2. Riveting of metal stamping parts

When metal stamping parts cannot meet the expected requirements. Two parts are commonly used to connect into one part. This is the welding that metal stamping parts manufacturers often say. The most commonly used welding is argon arc welding, electric welding, gas welding, etc.; The structure has the characteristics of uniform and reliable force transmission, toughness, good plasticity, and easy repair, so it is used for the connection of certain dissimilar metals and the connection of weldable metals (such as aluminum alloys).

3. Screw connection of metal stamping parts

Generally used for detachable structures, which are characterized by simple structure, convenient assembly and disassembly, low cost, and wide application.

4. Pre-embedded connection of metal stamping parts

It is to press screws, studs or nuts into metal stamping parts. There is generally no problem with the embedded studs. Because the studs are special, there is a groove above the hexagonal head of the stud. When the hexagonal head is pressed in, the material on the board will be squeezed into the groove and can be fixed by itself.

The screws are different. The screws selected by metal stamping parts manufacturers are generally not specially made, and there is no extrusion groove, so when the screw is pressed in, the extruded material has no place to go. Extruded by the material, it is difficult to control the straightness of the screw and the sheet metal plane.

Therefore, when installing other parts, it is often difficult to install. The longer the screw, the more difficult it is to control. At this time, there is no need to use a pre-embedded method, it is better to connect directly with screws.
